Craig Legg was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 1950 and raised in Homewood, Alabama. He attended and dropped out of the University of Alabama; joined and dropped out of the United States Navy; and spent ten years in Austin, Texas, where he worked as a venue manager. In 1987 he returned to Alabama and Birmingham, establishing himself as a fixture of the local arts, music, poetry, and bohemian cultural scenes. He is a self-published poet, a self-taught artist, and an amateur historian. He lives and works in Birmingham’s East Lake community.
